Eco-printing and Bouquet Technique Workshop 8/4/2025

$125.00

with Monique Crabb and Elisa Lane

Saturday, October 4th - two time slots:  10am - 1pm  AND  2pm - 5pm

We are teaming up with artist, Monique Crabb to offer an eco-printing workshop, tour of the farm and bouquet making.

The two eco-printing techniques are Bundle Dyeing, which uses steam to extract color from plants onto fabric and Hapa Zome is the Japanese art of beating pigment out of leaves and flowers with a hammer.  Please bring one small natural fiber item to alter with plant colors.

We will also tour the farm and you will leave with an eco-printed silk scarf, cotton tea towel, and a bouquet of flowers, all made by you!

When we offered this workshop in the past it sold out quickly so get your tickets soon to hold your spot.

Monique Crabbs work explores the intersection of identity, societal constraints, and the human body through narrative, symbolism, and traditional craft processes. Rooted in feminist theory, her practice interrogates how gendered bodies are shaped by history and society.

Monique received her BFA in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art and MFA at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Intermedia + Digital Arts, and for nearly a decade contributed to the Baltimore City arts community as co-director of Current Space, an artist-run gallery, studios and performance space. She currently is an adjunct faculty member at Maryland Institute College of Art where she teaches in the Fiber department.

Location: Two Boots Farm, 4226 Maple Grove Rd. Hampstead, MD 21074
