Changing of the Seasons
Greetings!
We hope you’ve enjoyed this first week of summer as much as we have. The cool temperatures have been a joy to work in, and we’ve managed to get a lot done on the farm. As summer rolls in we’ve got new crops on the horizon and lots of plans in the works for the coming months. We’re preparing to enter our slowest stretch of the season, and we’re looking forward to a little bit of relaxation during July and August, in advance of a busy autumn.
All of the sudden, it feels as though the farm has changed completely! Summer’s arrival coincided with the first flush of many of our summer blooms, which means we’re starting to bring in buckets full of rudbeckia, nicotiana, zinnias, dahlias, and more. This time of year is a favorite of mine, as we get to savor the last bits of our delicate spring blooms and pair them with our bright, beautiful summer flowers. The bouquets and arrangements we’ve made this week are gorgeous! It’s such a treat to do this work, perfectly in tune with the seasons. We’ll miss our cool flowers, but their departure makes way for so many other fantastic blossoms.
Bouquets headed to the market this weekend!
Sunday, June 27th, 8:00 am - 11:00 am: Johnny’s
We’ll be at market with arugula, beets, sprouting broccoli, carrots , celery, cucumbers, spring mix, and hakurei turnips.
We’ll have loads of bouquets, in addition to bunches of dahlias, larkspur, nicotiana, nigella, and yarrow.
Take care,
Amelia and the rest of the Two Boots Farm crew
