Two Boots Farm

A family run farm and floral design studio in Hampstead, Maryland. We grow a wide variety of cut flowers and produce. We also have over 100 cultivated pawpaw fruit trees. We use ecologically sustainable practices so that future generations can continue to grow in healthy soil.

Greetings, Farm friends!

The farm has been bustling with activity all week as we work on pulling plant sale orders, harvesting tons of ranunculus, pulling florist orders, and getting ready for the busiest planting weeks of the season. Not a dull moment to be had around here. We’re hoping that our Spring flowers won’t be too stressed out by the rapid changes in temperature we’ve experienced this week, and that we’ll have loads of blooms in time for Mother’s Day next weekend.

We’re hoping that we’ve experienced the last frost of the spring, though of course, we know that one can always sneak up on us in early May. In a burst of optimism, we planted out our first sunflowers, cosmos, and gomphrena on Thursday afternoon. Fingers crossed that the temperatures won’t dip too much! Last year a Mother’s Day freeze ended up killing off portions of several of our spring plantings. As the climate changes, the frost cycles become more and more unpredictable. That’s why we wait to plant out summer crops until the forecast really looks like it’s on the up and up, and why we wait until early May to send out summer seedling orders.

We’ve set the schedule for seedling sales and it is as follows:

May 1st, 8:00- 11:00am, The Filling Station, Sparks

May 8th, 8:00- 11:00am, Two Boots Farm

May 9th, 8:00- 11:00am, The Filling Station, Sparks

We will also have seedlings available at our farmer’s market stand for the next several weeks.

We’ve started to pull and harden off summer seedling orders!

We had a fantastic market last weekend at Johnny’s, and we’re looking forward to continuing to share our goods with you throughout the season!

Here’s where you can find us this weekend:

Sunday, April 25th, 8:00 am - 11:00 am: Johnny’s

We’ll be at market with arugula, green garlic, radishes, spring mix, and spinach. We’ll also have lots of Spring flower, vegetable, and herb seedlings. And, as always, we’ll be bringing bouquets and bunches of flowers!

Wishing you well,

Amelia and the rest of the Two Boots Farm crew
